Vegetation Changes in Response to Climatic Factors and Human Activities in Jilin Province, China, 2000–2019

Dynamic change in vegetation is an integral component of terrestrial ecosystems, which has become a significant research area the current context global climate warming. Jilin Province northeast China ecologically fragile area, and there urgent need to understand its changes responses both climatic factors human activities. The normalized difference index (NDVI) was used analyze trends growth, indicated growth overall. NDVI different cover types increasing, indicating that continuously greening, descending order, were grassland (0.0035/year) > permanent wetland (0.0028/year) cropland (0.0027/year) forest land (0.0022/year) barren (−0.0001/year). Grassland included most severely degraded areas, with fluctuating values. Precipitation main positive controlling factor western regions study while average temperature eastern regions. control for cropland, limited by precipitation temperature. Barren slightly negatively correlated precipitation. From 2000 2019, residual values increased from −0.0121 0.0116, impact activities on changed negative positive. By proportion positively affected zones as high 94.01%, mainly distributed across transitional areas grassland, urban built-up land.
